Activities in Pelion

In the Mountain of the Centaurs you can explore the magic of this beautiful area in a green scenery. Wonderful walking on cobbled paths and scenic mountaintrails to picturesque villages, countrychurches and ancient monasteries. Experience the nature and the traditional atmosphere.

The Pagasitic Gulf at one side and the Aegean Sea at the other side create bays with little and big beaches with sand or pebbles, ideal for a swim, waterskiing, windsurfing of fishing in a little boat or with a cane.

The steamtrain ‘Moutzouris’ - which means ‘smudgy face’- takes you on a journey of 29 km from Ano Lechonia to Milies. It is a beautiful route through an upper part of Pelion with old stone bridges and many views at the Pagasitic Gulf. It gives you the chance to admire the fascinating beauty of the area.

At Kala Nera the visitor has the opportunity to make a relaxed cruise on a boat around the Pagasitic Gulf and visit the Island of Trikeri or Skiathos, the biggest island of the Northern Sporades. Enjoy the view and look from the water at Pelion.

A different way of exploring the Pelion peninsula is to make an organized trip by horse, that brings you to the most beautiful corners, solitary beaches and traditional villages with their Pelioritic architecture.

During the winter at the top of Mount Pelion you can enjoy the wintersport at the pistes of Agriolevkes in Chania. Afterwards you can drink a hot chocolate next to the fireplace at the skihut.
